Witch-a-thon 2018 TBR

Greeting Fellow witches and welcome to my official announcement of my 2018 Witch-a-thon TBR. I am so excited to be participating in my first ever read-a-thon ! If your not familiar with this particular read-a-thon that is okay because this is its first run ! Rhiannon also known as Crescent moon reads on YouTube is the host and creator of the Witch-a-thon which runs from October 24th to October 31st this year. So the Challenges for this years Witch-a-thon are as follows....

On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, the young sorceress Sabrina Spellman finds herself at a crossroads, having to choose between an unearthly destiny and her mortal boyfriend, Harvey. But a foe from her family's past has arrived in Greendale, Madame Satan, and she has her own deadly agenda. Archie Comics' latest horror sensation starts here! For TEEN+ readers. Compiles the first six issues of the ongoing comic book series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

So without further ado lets jump in to my TBR picks for this Read-a-thon. For the first challenge I chose to read a graphic novel The chilling adventures of Sabrina, I will be reading this one on Hoopla so I can tote it around with me at work. Now for me there are two reasons I chose this book the first being I am a lover of twisted tales and all things horror so when I found out that they had re-imagined one of my favorite child hood shows as a graphic novel I had to get my hands on it. Also the Netflix series is coming out during the witch-a thon so I thought why not get a sneak peak of whats to come in the series !

I am so excited to delve back into the world of Sabrina and see how they have twisted one of my favorite stories.

Sometimes dead is better....When the Creeds move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true: physician father, beautiful wife, charming little daughter, adorable infant son -- and now an idyllic home. As a family, they've got it all...right down to the friendly cat. But the nearby woods hide a blood-chilling truth -- more terrifying than death itself...and hideously more powerful.

The Next book fulfills multiple challenges for me ,because lets get real your girl Works full time and reading sometimes takes a backseat to adulting. So for me this Pet Semetary, which I will be reading in Physical form, is going to fulfill challenges two, three, and four. As this is a horror/thriller with paranormal elements and because I like to read via Candle light in the bath pretty much every other night. Now this is a book i have already started reading as part of the constantly reading book club hosted by Jes from Jes reads books and Krystle from The book gypsy on YouTube so If I finish this I plan on Picking Up Saddie by Courtney Summers which I have heard nothing but great reviews on.

On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today. Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day.

For the fifth challenge which is to read a book that features your ethnicity I chose to FINALLY read they both die at the end by Adam Silvera. So this book not only has representation of my Hispanic roots with in the main characters but its also an own voices novel as Adam Silvera is also Hispanic. I have been putting off reading this for so long for other books but its finally time. I have manged to keep myself spoiler free on this one so all I know is whats in the synopsis and I can not wait to delve into this world where to boys meet on their last day on earth and form what ive heard to be an amazing bond. All I can say is that I am ready mind, body and spirit to take on my first Adam Silvera novel

Merricat Blackwood lives on the family estate with her sister Constance and her Uncle Julian. Not long ago there were seven Blackwoods—until a fatal dose of arsenic found its way into the sugar bowl one terrible night. Acquitted of the murders, Constance has returned home, where Merricat protects her from the curiosity and hostility of the villagers. Their days pass in happy isolation until cousin Charles appears. Only Merricat can see the danger, and she must act swiftly to keep Constance from his grasp.

The Next challenge was a bit hard for me as I am fairly new to the bookish community and have not found a coven to call my own yet. So this witch took to twitter to find a coven to buddy read with and I was lucky enough to find a group reading a book that i had quite frankly never heard of ! I do know after some research that this the same author who wrote the haunting of hill house ( ah yes another Netflix original show on my list of things to watch). This to my knowledge is more eerie than it is frightening but I am here for it. I am so excited to be reading another new to me author during this read-a-thon as well as discussing its contents with the group

Last but certainly not the least challenge is to read the group book which is The girl who drank the moon by Kelly barnhill. This is a fun middle-grade read about a misunderstood witch who live in the forest and is feared by the towns people. This book will be a nice reprieve from all the spooky books I have lined up for the week. I plan on spreading this book out through out each day of the week to make sure I actually finish it ! So that's is my rather ambitious TBR for this week, If You want to follow my progress during the Witch-a-thon follow me on my Twitter or Instagram pages as ill be updating daily on both. Or if your participating I would love to see what your reading and chat.

Happy reading Witches !!
