This has second installment in the Miss peregrines universe was phenomenal ! Riggs really kept the pace going from the end of the first book and right into Hollow city. This book is the start of an epic fantastical journey to save their beloved Miss peregrine. The immense world building was by far my favorite, Riggs really introduces Peculiardom we learn the ins and outs of this Secret sect of people and it answered all the questions from the

first novel and more. Also the character development was amazing learning more about each character while also seeing them change and evolve as they have to flee the only home they have ever known. The only element of this story that I find problematic is the budding romance between Jacob and Emma is a bit unnecessary and makes me just a tad bit uncomfortable being that Emma and Jacobs Grandfather. In my opinion their relationship does not add to the story in my opinion but that aside this series is shaping up to be one of my favorite of the year I cant wait to see what unfolds for the children. I gave Hollow city and easy 5 out of 5 stars.
